Congratulations to all the children who represented our school in the Diversity Games in Athlone. The children did exceptionally well, placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in individual and team events. Thank you to the staff who coached them over the past few weeks. We’ll done to all involved.

Athletics in Senior Infants & 1st Class

Well done to all the wonderful athletes in Senior Infants & 1sr Class, who recently completed a variety of activites & challenges at the Claremorris Athletics Centre.

Budding Engineers in 1st Class

Well done to this amazing pupil in first class, who completed this wonderful working lighthouse!

Reminder: the school will be closed on Monday 13th January, to facilitate essential staff training.

Christmas

Wishing all our families a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.  Our school will re-open on Monday, 6th January at 9.20am.

Paul Lawless recorded the school choir singing and some of the children in our junior classes speaking about Christmas. This was broadcast on Claremorris Community Radio and is available to listen to on the Tune In App or the link from his Facebook page. Songs have also been sent to Mid West Radio for their Santa Show on Christmas Eve.

Parent Talk

The King’s Hospital School are hosting a parent talk with David Coleman and their Headmaster, Mark Ronan, which may be of interest to parents of 4th-6th class pupils. It is entitled ‘Easing the Transition to Secondary School. Tickets are only €10, available on the following link https://www.kingshospital.ie/david-coleman-ballina, with all the proceeds going to ISPCC Childline.

St. Stephen’s Day Walk

Come and join our annual St. Stephen’s Day Walk after the 12 noon Mass (approx. 12:45pm) at the gates of the Old Church and walk the beautiful 3km loop around the Shrine grounds. This year all proceeds go to the Order of Malta, Knock National School and Knock Community Centre. Suitable for all ages!
