WEEE Collection Knock

WEEE Ireland will be holding a FREE collection for waste electrical items in

The West Car Park, Knock  on Tuesday 20thth June from 10am – 1pm

Householders will have the opportunity to recycle any item with a plug or a battery which is at the end of it’s useful life for FREE.

Also, all types of batteries and energy saving light-bulbs may be recycled at this event.    Mayo County Council is supporting this

recycling initiative.

Local promotion will prove invaluable to the success of the event.

 

Well Done

Congratulations and well done to our girls’ football team who won their county semi-final recently. They will play in the County final at McHale Park on 6th June.

Congratulations and well done also to our boys’ hurling team who won their county semi-final last week. They will play in the County final at McHale Park on 15th June.

Good luck to both teams in their respective finals. We also wish to thank Mr Halligan, Mr Frayne, Mr Costello, Eamon Byrne, Pauline Flatley and everyone involved for their time and help with training etc

Opening Ceremony

The official opening ceremony of our new school extension will take place on Friday 2nd June at 2pm.   

Archbishop Francis Duffy will conduct the blessing and re-opening of the extension. 

Everyone from the school community and Knock Parish are invited to attend.

Reminder to parents: that to facilitate preparations all children go home at 12pm on Friday, and may come back for the ceremony with their parents.

Christmas Concerts

Our Christmas concerts will go ahead as follows. starting at 7.30pm:

Tuesday 13th December: Junior and Senior Infants, 3rd and 5th Classes

Wednesday 14th December: 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th Classes

Please have the children at the school for 7pm to ensure that everyone is ready to perform on time.

It might be best to park in the car park opposite the school and use the new entrance at the front of the building. We will have the area at the front of the school gritted and lit up for safe entry and exit.

We will also be holding a Christmas raffle on both nights.  Tickets are €1 per strip or 3 strips for €5.  All proceeds will go towards our new school stage.
