Herewith a quick update on some exciting events happening this week.
Talent Show – ‘Knock’s Got Talent’.
A reminder that our talent show is taking place on Thursday 10th April in the school hall, starting at 10am. Parents and family members are all invited to attend; entry to the hall is via the back door at the rear of the school – there will be no access through the main area of the school. We ask that everyone is seated before the start of each session – i.e. by 10am and by 12pm – to avoid any interruptions to the performances. The order of performance is as follows:
TALENT SHOW – PART 1: 10:00-11:30
|1||SPECIAL GUEST: BRENDAN MCGUINNESS|
|6||Éabha May Murray
|18||James & John Heneghan|
TALENT SHOW – PART 2: 12:00 – 13:30
|2||Carίosa De Búrca|
Asst: Ava Horan
Morgan Mai Slattery
We are having a movie night to follow on from the talent show. It will be exclusively for 1st to 6th class pupils of Knock National School ONLY, and will be supervised by staff. We will be showing Saving Mr Banks at 6pm. Pupils should be dropped off by 5.50pm promptly, so they can be seated by 6pm. Each child will receive a drink and a treat; they will also receive popcorn which has kindly been sponsored by Raymond Heneghan. The cost will be €5 per child please, which is to cover all running costs for the event. All money should be sent into the class teacher by 3pm on Wednesday 9th April for confirmation of numbers attending.
Easter Egg Raffle
We are having an Easter egg raffle on Friday 11th April. Tickets are 50c per line or 3 lines for €1. Please ensure your child/ren has their money with them for the raffle, to avoid any disappointment on the day.
Scór na bPáistí
Well done to the children who represented the school in the East Mayo Scór na bPáistí County final competition, which was held in Breaffy Hotel Resort on Saturday 5th April. James Frayne won the séan nós dancing title and the ballad group came second. The figure dancing and set dancing groups, along with Niamh Duffy in the solo singing were unlucky not to be placed. Congratulations and well done to everyone who took part, you all did yourselves and your school very proud indeed!
Just a reminder (as if we need any reminding!!) that school finishes as normal on Friday 11th April and returns on Monday 28th April.
We hope you all have a very Happy Easter, enjoy the holidays!
