Scór na bPáistí

The Scór na bPáistí county finals will take place in Carnacon Community Centre on Saturday 9th March at 2pm.  Children from our school have qualified in the following events—figure dancing, solo singing, ballad group, recitation, novelty act and set dancing. The children and teachers are busy practising for this exciting event. We wish them the best of luck.

We had some special visitors last week. Laura’s dad brought some new born lambs to school.

STEPS Engineering Project

Congratulations to Ms Gorman and the children in 4th class. They recently received the wonderful news that two of their class submissions for the STEPS Project have made the final shortlist of 30 projects. The two projects are: Glowing Umbrellas and The Co-ordination Car. This is a fantastic achievement to have two selected from the one class. The winners will be announced in May.

Attendance Raffle

We have been promoting and rewarding good attendance since the beginning of the new school term. Students who have good attendance each week earn a ticket for a raffle at the end of each month. Pictured are the winners of each class raffle for the month of January with their prizes. We will also be unveiling our school attendance tree shortly which will stand in the school to celebrate the good attendance of our students.

Diversity Games

Congratulations to all of the children who took part in the Diversity Games in Athlone on Wednesday. It was a wonderful experience and day out for everyone involved.
