Junior Infants- It’s a bug’s life!

Junior Infants enjoyed learning about Minibeasts. They enjoyed a minibeast hunt around the school and collected lots of different minibeasts including snails, slugs, worms, spiders and even a frog! The children also made their own minibeasts using playdoh.

Junior Infant and The Haven School Tour

Junior Infants and The Haven class recently enjoyed their school tour to Westport. The children enjoyed the journey on the bus from Knock to Claremorris, the train from Claremorris to Westport and then the children enjoyed playtime in The Wild West. We had a great time and so much fun.

Junior Infants and The Haven class recently enjoyed a trip to Claremorris to Mc Mahon Park. The children loved this park and had a lovely walk around the lake. They also enjoyed feeding the ducks, geese and goslings. They also had the opportunity to enjoy their lunch outside in the beautiful weather we are having at the moment.

Red and Green Day

 

 

We will hold a Red and Green Day, next Friday, September 16th. Children are asked to dress in red and green on the day to show their support for Mayo. As this is also National Fitness Day we have lots of fun sporting activities planned for the children and staff.

Summer Fun in the Infant Room

Ms. Sarsfield’s Junior and Senior Infants were busy during the month of June. They learnt about all the different jungle animals, the Aistear area was ‘The Vets’, and the children also made their own jungle animals using playdoh and construction materials.

Junior Infants Summer School Tour

Ms. Sarsfiled’s class went to Claremorris on their School Tour. They visited the Garda Station, they had playtime in Pots of Fun and also went for a walk in Mc Mahon Park, where they cooled down with ice-lollies. The final part of the tour was a trip to The Playground. A fun day was had by all.:-)

Connaught Telegraph Young Sport Star of the Year

Well done to Thomas Joyce who has been nominated as one of the Connaught Telegraph’s Young Sport Star of the Year. The Reader’s Choice Award will be announced at the 2015 Connaught Telegraph Young Sports Stars of the Year which will take place on Friday 5th February in the Breaffy House Hotel. Cross Country

Well done to Jamie Johnston who represented Knock NS at the Mayo Cross Country Championship which took place in Baliina. Jamie came in 13th overall. Thank you to Ms Sarsfield and Ms Horkan.
