One Direction Raffle
We are raffling tickets to the One Direction Concert in Croke Park on Sunday 25th May. Tickets are on sale now at €2 each or 3 for €5. The draw will take place on Friday 9th May.
Communion Retreat & Holy Communion
First Holy Communion for 2nd class pupils is on Saturday 10th May at 11am in the Old Church. They will attend their Communion Retreat on Thursday 8th May. The Parents’ Association have asked 3rd class parents to donate food for the Communion party. All food donations can be brought to the Rest & Care Centre from 9.30am on Saturday.
Heritage in Schools
Ecologist Jackie Hunt will be visiting the school on Wednesday 14th and Monday 19th May to explore local habitats with the children. This links in with curriculum subjects in geography and science. On these days please ensure the children bring outdoor footwear and a jacket to school.
Road Safety Workshops
Children from all classes will attend road safety workshops, run by the Road Safety Authority, on Friday 16th May. A visiting RSA officer will cover all aspects of road safety from the safe cross code to key road safety messages including walking and cycling to school.
Hurling Blitz
There will be a hurling blitz in Claremorris from 11am on Friday 16th May.
Comenius Project
Ms Boyle, Ms Langan and Mrs Kelly will visit Germany in the coming weeks as part of our Celebrating Europe Comenius project.
Spirit of Knock 5k Run & Walk
Inaugural 5k road race around Knock Shrine and Knock Village will be held on Saturday 24th May starting at 11am from Knock Community Centre. Registration is from 9.30am. Entry fee is €10. All proceeds to Knock NS Parents Association. All children must be accompanied by an adult and no dogs allowed.
Kenny Folliard Memorial Cup
Our football team will once again participate in this cup match on Friday 30th May in Aghamore. Further details will be advised once arrangements have been finalised.
Uniform
As the weather has now improved, the children should now be wearing their full school uniform. Tracksuits can be worn on PE days.
Green Schools
We have been awarded our Green Flag for Bio Diversity. Congratulations to Mrs Coyne and the Green Schools Committee.
Summer Works Scheme 2014
We have successfully applied for SWS to upgrade mechanical services within the school building. We have also received funding to carry out necessary repair works to the school roof. It is intended that these works will take place over the summer.

June Bank Holiday: Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd June
Summer Holidays: last day of term is Thursday 26th June
