Uniforms
Now that winter has arrived children are free to wear their tracksuits to school if they wish. They can also continue wearing their uniforms if preferred.
2nd, 4th, 6th Classes – HSE Consent Forms
Please ensure all HSE consent forms that went out recently to 2nd, 4th and 6th class children, are returned by Friday 15th November, so they can be collected by the Dental Clinic. Thank you
Community Games AGM
The Community Games AGM will be held next Monday 11th November at 8.30pm in Burkes Bar.
Christmas Annuals
Order forms for Christmas annuals will be distributed this week. If your child wishes to purchase one, the price is €4. The school will receive a discount on a bulk order, which will be used to buy a set of library books for our school library. All order forms and money must be returned to the school no later than Tuesday 26th November please. We will be unable to process any orders received after this date.
Christmas Concerts
The Christmas concerts will take place on the following dates:
4th-6th classes: Thursday 5th December at 8pm in the Old Church
JI-3rd classes: Tuesday 10th December at 8pm in the school hall. This date has changed from the previous date of 3rd December.
Scouting Ireland/Ballyhaunis Scouts

Public consultation on inclusiveness in primary schools
Recently a number of consultation leaflets were sent to all NPC members and all other schools on the public consultation process which is part of the Minister’s Action Plan in response to the Report of the Advisory Group to the Forum on Patronage and Pluralism in the Primary Sector.

Pupil Insurance
This year we have been able to avail of a reduced online premium for our Pupil Insurance cover. Therefore, all those who paid for this insurance are due a refund of €2.70 or €1.80 per child, depending on which option was paid for. These refunds will be going out to the children during this week, so please look out for them. Thanks
Anti Bullying Training Session
National Parents Council Primary and National Parents Council Post Primary have developed an Anti Bullying Programme for Parents of primary and post primary children.
There will be an Anti Bullying Training session held in Mayo Education Centre, Castlebar, Co. Mayo – Thursday 17th October – 7.00pm
This session will enable you to support your child regarding issues of bullying and will also inform you about the new Anti Bullying Procedures for Primary and Post Primary Schools.
The session runs for two hours and is provided free of charge.

These sessions have been developed specifically for a parent audience and they are therefore not suitable for children.
This Training Programme is a joint initiative between National Parents Council Primary and National Parents Council Post Primary. The training is funded by the Department of Education and Skills under the Anti Bullying Action Plan.
