April Activities in the Infant Room

We had a very busy month in the Infant Room. The children enjoyed the story of The Three Little Pigs. They learnt about all the different kinds of houses and even made their own three houses for the pigs using straw, wood and bricks.
The children created chalk drawings and drew their own houses using 2D shapes.
The children also visited the local church where Fr. Patrick gave them a tour.
The children enjoyed exploring Capacity in Maths and also made their own musical instruments.

Loom Bands

5th and 6th class really enjoyed making loom bands with the infant class.

Mayo Orchestra

We thoroughly enjoyed the recent visit of the Mayo Orceshtra to the Rest and Care centre. Children from 1st-6th class were fortunate enough to perform with the Orchestra. Sincere thank you to the Orchestra, our special guest Brendan Mc Guinness, the school children who performed and to Mrs Coyne who organised the event.

Scór na bPáistí

Well done to the children who represented the school in the East Mayo Scór na bPáistí competition. The competition was held in Kilmovee on Wednesday, 26th March and the children involved in the ballad group, figure dancing, set dancing, solo singing and séan nós dancing successfully qualified to the County Scór na bPáistí finals. Sincere thank you to Mrs Coyne, Gráinne Kelly Frayne and Ann McLoughlin for their work with the children.
