Kenny Folliard Memorial Cup
Congratulations to our boys and girls football teams who, once again, won the Kenny Folliard Memorial Cup recently. Well done to everyone who took part. Thanks also to Ms Coyle, Ms Horkan, Sean Sweeney and Padraig Cunnane, who all do a great job coaching the teams.
Mayo Concert Orchestra
As part of our music programme for primary schools, we were privileged to host the Mayo Concert Orchestra in the Rest and Care Centre recently. The orchestra played a wide range of musical styles, such as the theme tune to Star Wars and tunes from The Sound of Music to name but a few. It was a most enjoyable evening where children from the school took part – some in the dynamics of music, others 1st-6th in singing, our Scór group and our very own Sean Nós County champion, James Frayne. Our special guest on the night was soloist Brendan McGuiness, a very talented past pupil of our school. Also featured was a drumming group from Monasteraden National School. Our thanks go to everyone who took part and who helped in any way on the night, including the Parents’ Association who kindly provided the refreshments. Thanks also goes to St John’s Rest and Care Centre for supplying us the venue.
