Seachtain na Gaeilge

Activities to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge will be as follows:

Friday 13th March is Green Day – children to dress in Green/National Colours to celebrate – they can be as inventive as they wish.
There will also be an Irish Cookery Demonstration and Tasting – Children from the senior classes will cook some traditional Irish food.  All the children in the school will get the opportunity to taste the food that will be prepared.

Thursday 19th March – All classes will perform Irish poems/songs for each other.
A whole school Tráith na gCéist will take place in the afternoon.

Friday 20th March – All children will take part in a traditional Irish dance workshop.
We will also hold a Gaelic games activity day when all the children in the school will get to take part in GAA games throughout the day, i.e. Gaelic football, hurling, rounders and handball.

 

Ballyhaunis Golf Club Junior Registration

Attention of boys and girls aged 9+

Junior golf registration 2020

Junior golf registration and information evening will be held on
Thursday, March 12th at 6.30 p.m. in Ballyhaunis golf club. Anyone
interested in joining the club or in attending junior golf sessions
during the year is invited to attend, along with a parent/guardian.
Membership for the year (€60 for first family member, €50 per
subsequent member – includes €10 insurance fee) may be paid on the
night. Fee includes free golf sessions with lessons during school
holidays and full use of the club’s facilities (accompanied by an
adult).

World Book Day

Reminder that World Book Day is Thursday 5th March.  We look forward to seeing the children dressed up as their favourite book character.

Quiz Night

We are pleased to confirm the recent Quiz Night and raffle fundraiser, raised a total of €1471.  Thank you to everyone who took part and contributed.

A special thank you must go to Jackie and Síobhan Coyne for their hard work as MC and question setters/scorers; to all the members of the Parents’ Association for all their hard work in organising the event and getting the many sponsors for the raffle and spot prizes; to Josie and staff at the Thatch Pub and to everyone who helped out in any way to make this such a successful, enjoyable and fun night.
